The night before your surgery, eat your last meal before 10:00 p.m. if your procedure is in the morning. If your surgery is later, be sure to fast for at least 8 hours, and you can eat a very light breakfast (just fruit and water) well in advance. After this period, you must arrive completely fasting, with no food or liquids, including water.
